Digital Nomad Visa

A short-stay visa, in the Non-Resident category, for people working remotely for companies or clients outside Panama. Once granted, no further process is needed to work remotely from the country.

Documentation

Required documents

Every foreign document must be submitted translated into Spanish and legalized through an apostille or Panamanian consular authentication.

  • Contract with a foreign transnational company, or evidence of self-employment in remote work.
  • Evidence of foreign-source income of at least US$36,000 per year.
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
  • Five passport-size photographs.
  • Apostilled or authenticated criminal record certificate.
  • Proof of health insurance covering the entire stay.
  • Sworn non-competition statement, undertaking not to accept work or offer services within Panama.

How we work

The process, stage by stage

  1. Reviewing the work relationship

    We verify that the contract or self-employed activity has effect abroad, as the decree requires.

  2. Evidencing income and insurance

    Foreign-source income and health coverage for the entire stay are documented.

  3. Filing the application

    The file is submitted, including the sworn non-competition statement.

  4. Extension

    Before the first 9 months expire, we handle the extension for a further 9 months.

Additional considerations

  • Once the visa is granted, no additional process is needed to work remotely from within Panama.
